Representatives of the World Bank mission and MUNIS project visited Samarkand and Navoi region on October 18-19.
On October 18 of this year, deputy governor of Samarkand region H.Tukhtayev, regional governor's assistant N.Ibragimov, Yerali Beksultan, regional representative of the World Bank for Central Asia and the World Bank's project manager "Modernization of the National Innovation System of Uzbekistan" (MUNIS) met with their representatives.
At the meeting, the Samarkand experience of financing innovative and start-up projects, the innovative ecosystem of the region, the implemented innovative projects, the transformation of the Samarkand region into an "Innovation Hub", the establishment of R&D centers in large production enterprises, and the improvement of the innovative infrastructure of the region in the future were discussed.
Also, in the afternoon, representatives of the World Bank visited "Samarkand Youth Technopark" in order to study the state of existing innovative infrastructures in the region, and got acquainted with the projects implemented there, existing opportunities and plans for revitalizing the future activities.
Also, on October 19, officials of the Navoi region hokimity and representatives of other organizations met with representatives of the World Bank project "Modernization of the National Innovation System of Uzbekistan" (MUNIS) at the regional youth technopark.
The Navoi experience of financing innovative and start-up projects, innovation ecosystem of the region, implemented innovative projects, transformation of Navoi region into an "Innovation Hub", establishment of R&D centers in large production enterprises and improvement of the innovation infrastructure of the region in the future were discussed at the meeting.
